伏見稲荷大社の境内にある江戸時代中期の国学者・歌人である荷田春満の邸宅で、表門・書院・神事舎・高塀が現存している。
社家の現存が少ない現在において、これらは大変貴重な建物である。邸宅の庭園からは楼門と本殿を望むことが出来、青空と立派な松の木、朱色の建物と白い壁は見事なまでの饗宴であり最高の景色である。
